Pitcher T.J. Beam attended the University of Mississippi and went 14-2 as a senior. He wqas drafted by the New York Yankees in the tenth round of the 2003 amateur draft. In five years in their organization, he was 22-18 with a 2.71 ERA in 154 minor league appearances. He also spent part of the 2006 in the majors with the team, going 2-0 with an 8.50 ERA in 20 outings.
Following the 2007 campaign, Beam became a free agent and signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
