First baseman Svend "Red" Jessen played in the minor leagues from 1941 to 1955, missing the 1944-1946 seasons. Jessen spent most of the 1941-1950 period in the New York Yankees chain, and spent 1948 to 1955 in the Pioneer League. Jessen hit over 20 HR three times in his career, and made the Pioneer League all-star team four times in a row - 1949-1952.
