The municipally owned Surprise Stadium is the Spring Training Home of the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers. Surprise Stadium is part of the larger Surprise Recreation Campus Spring Training Facility. In addition to the stadium, SRCSTF houses an additional 6 lighted and 6 unlighted baseball fields, 16 hitting tunnels, and an 8 acre multipurpose field. Surprise Stadium was funded on the same 2000 ballot initiative as the Arizona Cardinals' municpally owned football stadium. In the Winter, Surprise Stadium is home to the Grand Canyon Rafters of the Arizona Fall League as well as hosting the Arizona State University's Coca Cola Classic NCAA tournament.
