Steven Register led the AA Texas League in saves with 37 in 2007 and was selected by the New York Mets from the Colorado Rockies in the 2007 Rule V draft. However, he failed to stick with the Mets in spring training and was sent back to Colorado. After spending the first part of the year with the AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox, he made his major league debut with the Rockies on August 4, 2008.
