Steve Gruwell was a catcher and scout. He debuted in 1962 with the Middlesboro Senators, hitting .320 in 33 games. In '63, Steve batted .174/.290/.283 in 31 contests for the Wisconsin Rapids Senators. He wound up in 1964 with the Quincy Gems, hitting .211/.306/.310 as a regular.
He started scouting for the California Angels in 1982, signing Jim Edmonds and Bobby Rose.
