Steven Gotowala was the 1997 NCAA Division II ABCA Player of the Year and made the D-II American Baseball Coaches Association All-Americans team in 1997. He was also the Baseball America selection as NCAA Division II Player of the Year. Gotowala hit a dazzling .418 with 20 HR and 97 RBI. He led NCAA Division II in hits (108 in 59 games) and total bases (202), meaning he slugged a whopping .782. He signed with the Chico Heat but never played for them.
