Pitcher Steve Gasser was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2nd round of the 1985 amateur draft. On December 7, 1988, Gasser was traded by the Twins with Jeff Bumgarner, and Toby Nivens to the New York Mets for Wally Backman and Mike Santiago. He aparently missed the 1989 season, then pitched just 11 games for the Columbia Mets and Sumter Braves in 1990 before ending his career.
