Steve Dunn, from London, Ontario, came down to the northern U.S. in 1884 to play for St. Paul in the Union Association. Hitting .250 on a team that hit .180 in its brief lifetime, Dunn had the highest average among the regulars.
He is one of nine major leaguers (through 2008) with the last name "Dunn". He is not to be confused with a later Steve Dunn.
