[edit] Biographical Information

Shortstop Stan Rojek appeared in one major league game for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1942, then served in the military during World War II. After the war, he returned to the Dodgers before moving on to the Pittsburgh Pirates, with whom he had his best season in 1948, hitting .290 in 156 games. He later played for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns before returning to the minors for several seasons. He retired in 1956.

Rojek once was involved in a record 5 double plays in one game.

After leaving baseball, Rojek returned to his hometown and ran a bowling alley. He died at age 78.
