Stan Galle died on January 28, 2006 in Mobile, AL just days before he would have turned 87 and is buried at Catholic Cemetery in Mobile.
Spring Hill College plays its home games at Stan Galle Field. Galle coached at the college for 27 years. One source calls Stan Galle Field the oldest collegiate baseball field in the country.
He began in professional baseball after attending Bay View High School.
