Stan Fansler had five starts for the 1986 Pittsburgh Pirates. Although he had a decent ERA of 3.75, he ended up with a record of 0-3. He was one of the youngest players in the league at the time, at age 21.
Fansler also pitched 11 seasons in the minors, primarily as a starter. In 1987 he went 12-7 with Vancouver.
On the 1986 Pirates he was the same age as teammate Barry Bonds.
He made one observer's All Stan Team.
