Stan Pitula a right-hander from Hackensack, NJ was 2-2 in 23 games for the Cleveland Indians in 1957. He started the 1957 season with Cleveland after winning fifteen games for the Indianapolis Indians of the American Association in 1956.
He tore a muscle in his elbo in June, missing the remainder of the season. He then aggravated the injury in spring training the following year. He last attempted a comeback with the Jersey City Jerseys of the International League in 1961.
Pitula was 34 years old when he took his own life on August 15, 1965, in his home town of Hackensack, where he had been a sheet metal worker.
