Silvio Martinez had one career save. It came on August 26, 1977 as a member of the Chicago White Sox against the Milwaukee Brewers. He pitched the last 2 innings of a 4-2 victory, giving up 2 hits, 0 earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.

He led the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games with 29 strikeouts, pitching for the Silver Medal-winning Dominican national team.

He pitched a one-hitter on July 8, 1978 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The lone hit was a 1st-inning single by Omar Moreno. He pitched another one-hitter on June 27, 1979 with the Cardinals against the Montreal Expos. The lone hit in that game was a 8th-inning single by Duffy Dyer.
