After dropping out of college, Shozo Doi played for Fujikura Densen in the industrial leagues and also spent two years as a 2B-3B with Hankyu. He was 2 for 16 in 1939 and hit .121/.227/.182 in 27 games the next year for a career line of .122/.242/.171 in 96 plate appearances. After his playing career ended, he was an industrial league umpire.
