Sherman Snappers
From BR Bullpen
The Sherman Snappers played in the tiny and financially unstable Lone Star League in 1929. When the team threatened to drop out, the league strengthened it, but the league itself did not last long and folded when Texarkana disbanded on May 16. The Snappers (9-9) were third in the four-team league. Ed Kallina (.344, 6 HR) tied for the home run lead while D. Boyd (.222) led with 7 steals. Clyde Pratt was second in average (.442). The most prominent player to emerge from the team was Tony Piet (.364, 6 SB). They played in Sherman, TX.
