Sherman Corbett was signed as a 3rd round pick in the 1984 amateur draft by the California Angels and scouts Lou Snipp and Mark Snipp.
Corbett was a high school baseball coach for five years after retiring from playing. He has been the head coach at University of Texas at San Antonio since 2001.
Corbett's brother, Ray Corbett, was a catcher in the minors from 1977 to 1985.
