Starter Shawn Sedlacek pitched 16 games in the majors with the 2002 Royals. In the minors, he had an eight-year minor league career with a record of 69-61. In the year 2000 he went 15-6 with Wichita.
His time at Iowa State University overlapped with that of Nate Teut, who also came to the majors in 2002.
