Brother of former All-Star Jay Buhner, designated hitter/first baseman Shawn Buhner was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 29th round of the 1994 Amateur Draft. He played six minor league seasons, all with the Mariners organization, reaching AAA Tacoma in 1999. In his six seasons, he hit .244/.313/.369.
