In 1989, Sergio Ferrer played for the St. Petersburg Pelicans and St. Lucie Legends of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. Ferrer's combined batting average was .222 in 50 games; 36 games with St. Petersburg and 14 games with St' Lucie.
