Sergey Soloviev has played several times for the Russian national team.
Soloviev debuted for Russia in the 1999 European Championship, going 0 for 5 as the backup catcher behind Andrei Selivanov. In the 2001 European Championship, the 20-year-old went 0 for 4 as Selivanov's sub. He was Russia's main catcher in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, hitting .143/.333/.286 and allowing 15 steals in 17 tries. He had 6 passed balls in five games. He went 2 for 12 with 3 walks in the 2003 European Championship.
