Sean Henn' was drafted by the New York Yankees as a draft-and-follow pick in the 26th round of the 2000 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mark Batchko in May 2001 for a $1.701 million bonus and made his pro debut that summer.

Henn's first major league win closed a remarkable three-game series between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians. For the first time in major league history, a team swept a series of three or more games, with each game giving a pitcher his first career major league win. The other winners were Chase Wright and Kei Igawa.
