Scotty Alcock played major league baseball for the 1914 White Sox. His minor league career went from 1905-23, and he also managed in 1923 (for the Columbia Comers/Gastonia Comers).

Scotty was born and died in Wooster, OH, but he usually played minor league baseball in the South or the West. He hit .350 for Chattanooga in 1909, and late in his career was with Vernon of the PCL from 1918-21.

Alcock was all over the field defensively, playing notable numbers of minor league games at third base, shortstop, second base, outfield, and catcher.

During his time with the White Sox (his last game was August 2, 1914), he appeared in 54 games, mostly at third base. Jim Breton had the most games at third base, appearing at the position in 79 games. The next year Lena Blackburne would get the job.
