Pitcher Scott Eyre is the brother of Willie Eyre. After posting a 7.16 ERA in 19 appearances in 2008 with the Chicago Cubs he was designated for assignment and then traded in a waiver deal to the Philadelphia Phillies for minor league righty Brian Schlitter who had a 4-3 record with a 2.22 ERA in 34 games for the Clearwater Threshers. Schlitter reported to the Daytona Cubs.
