Scott Bryant was the recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy in 1989 as a junior. He batted .388 with 18 home runs, a nation leading 108 RBI, 31 doubles and only 21 strikeouts in 242 at bats. He was also selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round (20th overall) of the 1989 amateur draft. He never made it to the major leagues.
