Sang-Hoon "Samson" Lee was the first Korean to play in the Korea Baseball Organization and later pitch in the major leagues. He twice led the KBO in wins and was once Fireman of the Year. He also was 7-5 with a 3.30 ERA in two seasons with the Chunichi Dragons in Japan in '98-'99. His nickname of Samson originated from the length of his hair.
In the majors at age 29, he had a 3.09 ERA in 2000, when the American League as a whole had an ERA of 4.91.
