Outfielder Sandy Griffin played four seasons in the majors, getting a full season's worth of at-bats in only 1890, the year of three leagues, with the 1890 Rochester Broncos.
From 1886-89 he was in the International League, and from 1882-99 he was in the Eastern League. He managed a dozen years in the Eastern League and the New York State League as well as briefly in the majors. As of 1900 he was umpiring. As of 1911 he was co-owner of the Syracuse club.
