[edit] Biographical Information

Although Sam Brown was not the first-string catcher in either 1906 or 1907 for Boston, he got into a lot of games each season. He hit around .200 each year, but then the first-string catcher, Tom Needham, was also a bad hitter. Brown also filled in quite a bit in the outfield and at third base in 1906.

After he left the majors he played for Toronto.
