Sal Maglie Stadium was opened in 1939. The park was originally known as Hyde Park Stadium. It was named after Niagara Falls native and big league pitcher Sal Maglie in 1983. The original design of the stadium was often criticized. The stadium was a converted football field with home plate placed at the 50 yard line and straight grandstand. After the Niagara Falls Mallards left the city following the 1995 season the stadium was torn down and replaced by a new ballpark on the same spot. The new stadium includes a wrapped grandstand. The stadium is now home to the Niagara Power of the New York Collegiate Baseball League
