[edit] Biographical Information
In 1989, Sal Butera played for the Orlando Juice of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He hit .283 in 47 games with the team.
After his playing career ended, he managed the Osceola Astros from 1990 to 1992. In 1993-94, he managed the Jackson Generals and then the Hardware City Rock Cats in 1995. He also did some scouting. He also was the Toronto Blue Jays bullpen coach in 1998. In 2008, Butera is Special Assistant to the General Manager for the Blue Jays.
Butera is the father of minor league catcher Drew Butera.
