Pitcher Russ Swan was signed as a 9th round pick in the 1986 amateur draft by the San Francisco Giants and scout Andy Korenek.
Following his playing career, Swan spent time as a pitching coach at Washington State University and in the Colorado Rockies organization.
Swan died at age 42 after hitting his head in a fall in his house in Lake Havasu City, AZ. It is believed he was robbed as he was found unconscious at the bottom of a stairway.
