Ruslan Deykun was the top power threat for the Ukrainian national team in the 2001 European Championship, hitting .304/.360/.609 with the club's lone homer and a team-best 9 RBI. The first baseman tied for second in the event in RBI and tied for 4th with four doubles.
Deykun was the oldest Ukrainian player at the 2007 European Championship. He was 2 for 21 with a double and 3 walks, alternating between DH and first base. He went 3 for 17 with four walks in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers. He is back with the Ukraine for the 2010 European Championship.
