Runelvys Hernández signed with the Samsung Lions for 2009. He debuted in the KBO on April 5 and allowed 3 runs in 5 innings in a win over the LG Twins. He was 2-3 with a 5.70 ERA in 10 games then was replaced by Brandon Knight on the roster.
