The Chicago White Sox signed Rudy Arias as an amateur free agent in 1953. He was assigned to the Kitty League Madisonville Miners for his first stint in professional baseball.

He was up for the job as he went 16-10, pitching 220 innings in 37 games. He gave up 183 hits, 89 earned runs for a 3.64 ERA. This was to be the best of his eleven year pro career.

It took Rudy until 1959 to get his chance in the major leagues. He was up with the Chicago White Sox for the entire season going 2-0, pitching 44 innings in 34 games for a 4.09 ERA. This was to be his only chance at being a major league pitcher.

Arias spent eleven years in professional baseball, all but the season in 1959 in the minors. He appeared in nine different leagues with thirteen different teams.

Overall, Rudy built an 82 win, 68 loss record, pitching 1,367 innings in 328 games. He gave up 1,383 hits, 561 base on balls and 635 earned runs. This added up to a life-time 4.32 ERA.

His last season on record was to be in 1966 with the Mexican League Petroleros de Poza Rica.
