[edit] Biographical Information
Second baseman Roy Schalk went twelve years between his first and second seasons in the majors. He broke in during the 1932 season for three games, and didn't come back until 1944.
After his major league days he managed in the minors.
[edit] Miscellany
Schalk is not close to the record for the longest career break: Paul Schreiber had a break of 21 full seasons. However, Schalk is the only player ever to miss at least 10 full seasons and then to return for at least 100 games.
