Roy Wise was born on Sunday, November 18, 1923, in Springfield, IL. Wise was 20 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 12, 1944, with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He appeared in two games with the Pirates, pitched three innings, gave up four hits and three base-on-balls with three earned runs for a 9.00 ERA. He had no decisions in his two appearances.
Wise's name is listed on the 1944 Albany Senators of the class A Eastern League roster but no statistics are available.
This appears to be Wise's only appearance in professional baseball. He was released on June 29, 1944 by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He passed away on February 25, 2008 in Irvine, CA.
