Roy Leslie was the regular first baseman for the 1922 Philadelphia Phillies, but otherwise played only 19 games in other years in the majors. The regular first baseman for the 1921 Phillies had been 35-year-old Ed Konetchy (closing out his career with a .321 average for the Phils), while the regular first baseman for the 1923 Phillies was 30-year-old Walter Holke, who hit .311.

Playing for Houston in 1919, he led the league in home runs (tied with Jewel Ens).

Leslie managed the Bonham Tigers (Texas-Oklahoma League) in 1912, the Bonham Blues (Texas-Oklahoma League) in 1913, the Mexia Gushers (Lone Star League) in 1928, and the Tyler Trojans (Lone Star League) in 1929 -- the Lone Star League disbanded on May 16, 1929 with the Trojans tied for first place with a 12-8 record.
