Roy Joiner pitched three years for the Cubs and Giants and another 15 years in the minor leagues. He served in World War II and never returned to baseball. He ranched near Vina CA for 45 years. He died at age 83 from pneumonia and arteriosclerotic heart disease and was cremated and interred at Vina-Carter Cemetery in Vina CA. His great grand son, Steven Berens, currently resides in Roy's Vina home and has carried on the ranching tradition.
