The father of Ross Grimsley, Ross Grimsley pitched 7 games in the majors and had a long minor league career.
In the majors, his ERA was 3.86 in 14 innings. He was 29 at the time, six years older than teammate Nellie Fox.
In the minors, Ross pitched from 1946-61, getting over 125 victories although much of the time he pitched in relief. He was a teammate of Tom Lasorda at Montreal in 1951.
