Rollin Cook served in the Army during both World Wars I and II. He pitched in 5 games for the Browns in 1915.
Cook was one of 23 pitchers used by manager Branch Rickey in 1915. Other pitchers on the team included the young George Sisler, and 15 of the 23 pitchers were 25 years old or younger.
Cook was one of the first major leaguers out of Ohio State University, where his time overlapped largely with that of Ollie Welf.
More than two dozen major leaguers have been born in Toledo, OH, including Cook's contemporary Roger Bresnahan.
