While playing for the Tulsa Oilers of the Western League in 1929, pitcher Rollie Stiles threw a no-hitter against the Des Moines Demons. He made his big league debut with the St. Louis Browns the following year and went 9-14 with a 5.92 ERA in parts of three seasons with the club. After his stint in the majors ended, he returned to the minors and pitched a few more years, including several seasons with the Jersey City Giants.
After his baseball career ended, Stiles worked for Proctor & Gamble, retiring in 1969. In 2006, he made an appearance at the St. Louis Browns Fan Club Reunion at age 99. On July 15th of that year, Stiles became the oldest living ex-major leaguer upon the death of Howdy Groskloss, and on November 17th, he turned 100 years old. Stiles died in his sleep Sunday morning, July 22, 2007 at Bethesda Southgate nursing home in St. Louis County.
