Rolando Roomes played three seasons in the major leagues, getting approximately 400 major league at-bats. The bulk of his at-bats were with the 1989 Cincinnati Reds, where he was a frequently-used # 4 outfielder. He hit .263 and slugged .419, both numbers better than the team average.
He played 12 seasons in the minors.
Roomes was one of of the first three major leaguers born in Jamaica; the other 2, Chili Davis and Devon White both played in All Star Games.
