[edit] Biographical Information

Roger LaFrancois spent the entire 1982 season on the Boston Red Sox roster, never went on the disabled list and hit .400, yet only played in 8 games, in one of the greatest feats of riding the pines ever recorded. Placed on the roster as a third-string catcher, it took him almost two months to even make his Major League debut.

LaFrancois played eight seasons in the minors, and was a teammate of Wade Boggs a couple seasons with Pawtucket.

Roger was at the University of Oklahoma from 1975-77, overlapping in his time there with Bob Shirley and Mickey Hatcher.

LaFrancois has also been a coach with the Vancouver Canadians (1992?) and Nashville Sounds (1993?) in the Chicago White Sox chain.
