Rogelio Martinez was a famous amateur and later professional player in Cuba who was signed by the Washington Senators in 1947 and came to the majors with them for two games in 1950. Connie Marrero, another famous Cuban player, also made his major league debut with the 1950 Senators. Both were past the age of 30 at the time.
He was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA for the Cuban national team in the 1941 Amateur World Series. In the 1944 Amateur World Series, he was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA.
