Infielder Rodney Linares was signed as an undrafted free-agent and played three seasons of minor league ball (1997-1999) in the Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros chains.
Linares was a coach for the Lexington Legends in 2005-2006 after spending six seasons with the Astros' Dominican Republic operations as a scout and hitting coach.
Linares' father Julio Linares has been with the Houston Astros organization since 1973. His brother Amaury Linares has coached for the Astros in the Dominican Republic.
