[edit] Biographical Information

During his playing career, pitcher Rod Scurry was plagued by drug problems, particularly cocaine addiction. He died at age 36 of an apparent drug overdose, a week after collapsing during an altercation with police.

His son, Rod Scurry, Jr., was drafted in the 2008 amateur draft.
