The only professional baseball team in the history of Rockingham, NC, the Rockingham Eagles played in the 1950 Tobacco State League. The club drew well (third in the 8-team league in attendance at 31,806) and played well (63-69, 4th place). Managed by Jack Bell and Turkey Tyson (who also hit .315 with 133 walks), the club's top pitcher was Walt Graham (13-11, 3.06, 4th in ERA). The league folded after that season.
