Ducey represented Canada at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. He later coached for Canada, in the 2006 World Baseball Classic and 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. Nick Weglarz, the home run leader in the 2008 tournament, credited Ducey with helping his mental approach at the plate. He was back with Canada as a coach in the 2008 Olympics and 2015 Premier 12.
Rob Ducey was a scout for the Toronto Blue Jays, concentrating on Europe and the Pacific Rim, until he was let go in October 2009 when the club decided to focus their attention on North America and Latin America .
In December 2013, Ducey was announced by the Arizona Diamondbacks as hitting coach for the Missoula Osprey of the Pioneer League, however in January 2014 Ducey ended up joining the staff of the Reading Fightin Phils. He is the hitting coach for the Clearwater Threshers in 2015-16.
