Robert Joseph Collins, known as Bob or Rip, played in the majors in 1940 and 1944. He was also in the PCL with Seattle and Los Angeles.
With the 1940 Cubs, he was the # 2 catcher behind 38-year-old Al Todd. 39-year-old Gabby Hartnett appeared in 22 games at the position.
He is not to be confused with Rip Collins the pitcher or Ripper Collins.
