Rigoberto Beltran beat the Cuban national team in the 2003 Pan American Games, their only loss of the competition.
Beltran was the pitching coach of the GCL Reds in 2008 and was originally announced as the pitching coach for the 2009 Dayton Dragons, but was re-assigned to the Carolina Mudcats before the season. He was the pitching coach for the Lynchburg Hillcats in 2010 and Bakersfield Blaze in 2011-2012.
