Third baseman Rick Magnante played 35 games for the 1969 Reno Silver Sox. He hit just .135/.179/.216 with 23 strikeouts in 74 at-bats.
Magnante managed the South African team in the 2006 World Baseball Classic, 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, 2009 World Baseball Classic and 2009 Baseball World Cup and is currently manager of the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League. In 1990, he was head coach for Novara in Serie A1. Magnante also appeared in the 1996 movie "The Fan" as the Giants' third base coach. He was an area scout for the Oakland Athletics from 1996-2005.
